Join SAAM as J. S. Williams honors the life and music of fellow trumpeter Alan Shorter. Both musicians share many similarities: each briefly studied at Howard University before pursuing their music in New York City, both played in military bands, and both have garnered international acclaim. Williams expresses his personal connection to Shorter, putting a modern spin on Shorter’s music.
